The title track from "World Passion" (Plus Loin Music, 2006) Composed By Tigran Hamasyan. Tigran Hamasyan - Piano Ben Wendel - Soprano Sax Francois Moutin - Bass Ari Hoenig - Drums
When great music is released and there have only been a few thousand viewers and a handful of comments after a year.... Wish more people around my age were into this.
Perhaps it is not so much age but listening experience. I love select best bits of many musical genres (from baroque to rap and hip hop) and I have 'educated' my 3 sons (eldest is 20 years old) to appreciate a wide range of genres but we listen most to jazz. My parents on the other hand..... ;)
What I think is also really crazy that Tigran Hamasyan is my favorite artist for over a year now and I only discovered this album today! I wish this was more promoted too
+Mr.SergeiRachmaninoff You must be one of those Debussy guys. Impressionism and Jazz have mixed before man, it's okay. This isn't the early 1900's anymore, it's a modern piece.
Cambo420Rambo195 I am not ,,one of those Debussy guys". It sounds a bit jazzy but the harmony is impressionistic. I mean, major 4th degree in a minor key? More jazzy than impressionistic or the other way around?
+Mr.SergeiRachmaninoff Tigran is an artist in the genre of Jazz. Coloring chords and creating atmosphere sounds like style to me. You know, I'm truly sick of pretentious music snobs who feel like they have to correct the feelings evoked in people. He plays Armenian folk too, does that mean it's a folk song? Not really, it's Jazz fusion.
@ transientsmile that happens to me often, but never works, nowadays most people like the lil waynes and niki menaj stuff, unfortunalty for them, they have no idea on what art in music is, but hey! atleast some people around the world do!!
Simply a work of one genius prodigy! Want to see this masterpiece in spotify one day.

And yes, it's a modern piece in the genre of impressionism. Style and genre are different things, right?
