Hilarious episode! I thought I'm going to see Ojama King here. Maybe Manjoume will use that against one of the Seven Stars(?).
That was pretty stupid, while it was an interesting duel. The whole use cards less than 500 attack and the only way to find them was in the well thing was stupid. And they didn't really need to bring back the brothers.
It was one crazy episode. The whole idea to beat someone with deck full of rare cards, using only monsters below 500 Hp was ridiculous but it worked at the end. And the cherry of the cake was that Chass had to do it.
I love how the episode was more about interactions over dueling!
GX is establishing multiple deck users, and the contrast between Manjoume's power deck and pipsqueak deck is so cute. These cards that were discarded but found a new home with him work really well for his storyline, especially the weird-lookin bros. Even though Manjoume's own brothers put pressure over him, it's obvious he still cares for them.
Oh, his room being crowded before but it's even more now is LOL
I still don't understand what the in-universe reason for Manjoume getting so much special treatment at the school is supposed to be. I mean clearly he gets away with things because of plot, but the narrative never tries to justify any of it. I mean the guy stole and basically destroyed Misawa's cards in order to sabotage him, yet he was still allowed back to the Academy, then the school makes special arrangements to let Manjoume have a giant freaking storage container to keep his extra stuff in? Plus he's the only student allowed to walk around without a proper school uniform? Wtf?
Anyway back to the episode itself, Chosaku and the other brother tick me off with their generic villain laughs. Also since we saw Kaiba in a flashback here why didn't they just have him appear in the previous episode in place of Kaibaman? And why the hell would he agree to such a ridiculous deal to sell the school? Also why the hell was that well the only place on the whole damn island to find cards with 500 ATK or less? Did Duel Academy's card store suddenly stop existing?!
This was a really fun episode, despite one of the main themes being the very annoying duel spirit becoming a CROWD of annoying duel spirits. I think the show did a good job of knowing how to irritate the characters without irritating the viewers. Good duel, too; Chazz's brothers walked right into that result. Also of COURSE Kaiba owns the academy, why wouldn't he?
I felt so sorry for the poor weak yugioh cards that were thrown into that pit. There're so many bad cards that have never been used and never will be, but they all deserve some attention and love. Awesome filler!
