Amazing DBKai Pace.... All hail the great pace this anime has!!! My gosh the poor YAmcha died... Such a uncool and pitiful death.... Too bad Goku was not on time to see him die... Well well and now here comes Krillin's super attack and Tien's crazy hand seals haaha.... Loved the way this particular episode looked... So neat and colorful.... Thou Nappa's armor changed of color for a while they corrected quickly.... Oh and what the hell is up with the sudden appearance of the cameraman huh? How the hell he knew where to go huh? LOL mystic Cameramen!!!

Very good! I adored DragonBall Kai! Let's go straightly to the point without wasting time!
Excellent episode, with the death of Yamcha and in the near one: The fury of Kuririn!
wow its so much better when they cut out all the shit. like the part where nappa goes around killing navy ships. they covered all the basics. piccolo's namek heritage their improved fighting abilities and yamcha's death. tomorrow is more death and then Our Hero.

It's camera man's instinct... all true camera men have it. I also love the no BS pacing of this show.
Excellent episode and excellent background music. If an English dub ever comes out I wonder which background music they would choose, both are so very fitting.
Well, this is the improved DBZ, and boy it does not faill to make you enjoy it! The episode was good, I hope they all die in the next episode and judging from the preview I am guessing this is where Goku the hero comes in! This gives me great nostalgia!
I just love the speed at which this anime is going. They leave the most important stuff, and cut out all the BS fillers.
Hope Goku comes back in the next eppy.
Yamcha such a fool. Was expecting goku to arrive next episode but after watching the preview at the end of this epi, doesnt look like goku coming back yet.
How could Yamcha not have sensed the surprise attack!? Oh well, glad they're cutting out all the filler and getting down to the good stuff. This is how dragonball was meant to be!
I remember when I was watching Z as a kid on Toonami and losing my shit when Yamcha died. I wasn't sad or anything like that, but I was just thinking something like that wasn't supposed to happen lol
I adore the meta-relationship, and character-relationship Piccolo has with Vegeta. As the final boss of Dragon Ball, he is facing off with the first boss of Dragon Ball Z (accepting Raditz, and Nappa as the mini bosses) and both are, at least in motivation, vying over the same thing. Control over the earth! Meanwhile, he's training Gohan which I've mentioned in a previous thread is also an incredibly interesting relationship to explore. The training and protection of Gohan vs the stand off with Vegeta is honestly so much more fascinating than I would have picked up on as a kid.
+ points for Gohan meeting Krillin properly this time around. That was adorable.
As for the Yamcha death, I think Dragon Ball having such blatant revival mechanics makes for one of the most exciting shounen. Outside of shounen like Jojo which are willing to brazenly inflict massive damage and kill off heroes, Dragon Ball is the next best thing. This is because instead of other battle shounen needing to either be very careful when it comes to killing off or mangling characters because revival mechanics are once-in-a-show, or do so with asspulls and tricks, Dragon Ball is very clear. Everyone can die and get torn to bits and it makes the moment-to-moment a level of visceral I normally associate with seinen, but with the charm and fun of shounen.
Also, find it funny when Kuririn was like "You knew something like this would happen, this is why you wanted to go first didn't you?", and I'm like, "Nah, I think he just wanted to show off."
They really wrote this character as the lowest tier one in the "gang", and this is why no one cares if he dies.
