العربية: شبام هي بلدة أثرية ومركز مديرية شبام في محافظة حضرموت في شرق اليمن. تشكل المدينة المسوّرة التي تعود إلى القرن السادس عشر أحد أقدم النماذج وأفضلها للتنظيم المدني الدقيق المرتكز على مبدأ البناء العمودي. وتعود تسميتها "بمانهاتن الصحراء" إلى مبانيها البرجية الشاهقة المنبثقة من الطين، يبلغ تعداد سكانها 16094 نسمة حسب الإحصاء الذي جرى عام 2004. |
