It's pretty common to do for large games (and files in general) a lot of hosts, especially free ones limit the size of both upload and download so this is done to bypass that also it just makes downloading and re-uploading easier since you can basically save your progress every time you finish downloading a chunk good for people with unstable internet

We don't know yet, but one thing for sure is game devs usually will inform any addition ahead of the actual patch to drum up excitement to generate new sales. Personally I don't think they're ready yet because the planned free DLC is HUGE, and I mean HUGE, involving new characters, new voice acting, new maps, tons of new events and scripts. It may be in a big version number (ver. 1.5/2.0 maybe). And they're not done yet fixing all the old bugs. So I think the collab DLC is still months away...

Supposedly, all of the colab characters can be found Pre-Chapter 3 if my understanding is correct. There's also no specific scenes for the Iris exclusive stuff. So there may be no new H-scenes in general. Not very clear.

LOL You're right, I missed the big announcement happened yesterday. Turns out they're already adding new character/s on ver.1.2.2 but not saying names. We have to play the game to see who she is.
But as you said it looks like they're not adding everything yet, just DLC character/s and new items/costumes for Iris. There's no word on the islands adventures yet, and the guest collaborator (PPP and Masquerade) will have more stream talking about this. The update info is very sparse, looks like this dev, as he said himself, isn't good with words. He should have MUCH MORE informative about the new characters, because this is big collabs. Yes you can watch Masquerade & PPP stream in pink pro channel, but he should be much more informative himself because this IS his game. One thing I applaud though is:

"Okay so based on what I saw with 1.22, I can tell that it's just the collab characters making cameos in the game. And meeting them unlocks a skin. Although I'm still trying to figure out how to spare the people who took down each dragon before you meet the final dragon.
Can you check if it works with 1.21? I think this one is 1.22b which requires 1.22 base first like previous updates
